LWIA #40 is committed to effectively serve the eligible youth population throughout the seven-parish area by providing them with the necessary skills needed to function in life and in the workplace.

Eligible Youth Definitions:

Is not less than age 14 and not more than 21 

Is Low Income 

Is an Individual with one more barriers!
1. Basic Skills Deficient
2. A school Dropout
3. Homeless, a runaway or foster child
4. Pregnant or a parent
5. An offender
6. Must be defined locally

ST. MARY PARISH SCHOOL BOARD (JAG Program-Job's For America's Graduates)

Services Provided-Students follow the JAG out-of-school (Dropout Recovery) program model offering instruction in the following competencies:

1. Career Development
2. Basic Skills
3. Personal and Life Survival Skills
4. Leadership and Self Development
5. Job Attainment & Survival
6. Workplace Basic Skills
Computer training is also offered.

GOODWILL INDUSTRIES OF ACADIANA, INC - Out-of-School Youth Program.

Services Provided- Students follow the JAG Out of School Program Model, including group instruction one-on-one counseling, job coaching and other assistance necessary for the students to successfully move from school to work. Instruction is offered in the following categories:

1. Career development
2. Basic competencies
3. Personal and life survival skills competencies
4. Leadership and self development competencies
5. Job attainment and survival competencies
6. New work place basic skills competencies
